A Life Dedicated to Service
For JP Broussard, serving others is more than just a job—it’s a calling. It all started over 27 years ago when JP made the decision to become a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance. During his tenure in emergency medical services, JP’s unwavering dedication and exceptional service earned him both the Distinguished Service and Meritorious Service Awards. But for JP, it wasn’t about the accolades; it was about being there for his community in their most critical moments of need.
Yet, JP felt a deeper pull towards law enforcement, a path that seemed almost destined given his family’s legacy of public service. In 2009, he took the first step by becoming a Reserve Deputy Marshal under Marshal Nickey Picard. And when the opportunity arose to become a full-time Deputy Marshal, JP didn’t hesitate—even though it meant taking a significant pay cut. For him, the chance to protect and serve his community was worth any personal sacrifice.
Bridging Compassion with Law Enforcement
Throughout his distinguished career in public service, JP Broussard has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty, earning recognition and respect from his peers and the community he serves.
What sets JP apart is his unique dual role as a nationally certified paramedic and full-time law enforcement officer, one of only four in the entire Acadiana region. This distinctive combination of skills allows him to approach his duties with a level of compassion and understanding that is rare in the field. It’s this dedication that has earned him the Life Saving Award from the Lafayette City Marshals and the honor of being named the Crime Stopper Officer of the Year in 2020.
