As a candidate for Chief of Police, I, Jean Paul “JP” Broussard, am committed to building a safer, stronger Youngsville. With my extensive experience in law enforcement and emergency medical services, I have developed a comprehensive platform that focuses on six key areas: public safety, community policing, fiscal responsibility, professional development, legal integrity, and community engagement.

Public Safety: A Commitment to Our Community

My top priority is to make Youngsville the safest city in Louisiana. By implementing advanced training, community policing, and strategic partnerships with local organizations, I will work tirelessly to reduce crime and enhance the overall safety of our community. I plan to integrate cutting-edge technology and data-driven approaches to expand neighborhood watch programs and increase patrols in high-risk areas, effectively deterring crime.

Legal Integrity: Reducing Liability

One of my key objectives is to attain CALEA accreditation for the Youngsville Police Department. This accreditation will standardize our procedures to national best practices, significantly reducing frivolous lawsuits and enhancing our operational effectiveness.

Community Policing: Strengthening Ties, Enhancing Trust

I believe that community trust is the cornerstone of effective policing. As Chief of Police, I will initiate programs that foster positive interactions between officers and the community, such as community meet-ups, public safety workshops, and youth outreach programs. I am committed to ensuring that the police department operates with the highest standards of transparency and accountability, holding officers accountable to the community they serve.

9

Fiscal Responsibility: Maximizing Resources for Safety

I will conduct a thorough review of the department’s budget to ensure that taxpayer money is being used effectively. By optimizing resources, we can allocate more funding towards advanced training, equipment upgrades, and community programs. I will also aggressively pursue federal and state grants to enhance our capabilities without increasing the financial burden on our citizens.

9

Professional Development: Building a Skilled Police Force

Under my leadership, officers will receive ongoing training in the latest law enforcement techniques, focusing on crisis intervention, mental health awareness, and de-escalation tactics. I am committed to the professional growth of our officers and will provide clear pathways for career advancement, ensuring that our team is motivated and highly skilled.

Community Engagement: Together, We Build a Better Youngsville

I believe in a police force that serves its community with open ears. As Chief of Police, I will conduct regular town hall meetings and surveys to hear and act on the concerns of Youngsville residents. I will also strengthen partnerships with schools, businesses, and non-profits to enhance public safety education and create a unified approach to community challenges.

Together, we can make Youngsville a model of public safety and community partnership. I am committed to leading with integrity, dedication, and a deep-rooted passion for our town. I ask for your support in making these goals a reality. Vote JP Broussard for Chief of Police, and let’s build a safer, stronger Youngsville together.
